Wiltshire Smokefree Award
The Wiltshire Platinum Smokefree Award is given free of charge to organisations / businesses that restrict environmental tobacco smoke in public / work areas. Historically it was available at four different levels - Bronze; Silver; Gold; Platinum - reflecting the extent of smoke free provision in a specific establishment.
The smokefree legislation (from July 1st 2007) means that almost all public places and workplaces should be at GOLD level (100% smokefree in enclosed and substantially enclosed areas).
We will therefore continue to issue the PLATINUM award only. This is awarded to those premises having (in addition to GOLD status) outdoor areas smokefree (i.e. grounds, car parks, gardens, seating areas etc. in their ownership).
